  • Responsibilities

    Summary: Performs quality and compliance monitoring within the commercial lending department, evaluates results, and recommends process improvements to management. Assists in correcting operational inefficiencies and compliance gaps within the department. 

     

    Essential Functions:

    • Assists in creating and maintaining a strong, proactive culture of compliance to both department procedures, and applicable regulations in the Commercial Loans Department.
    • Develops and maintains expertise on laws and regulations applicable to the business unit, and maintains a strong working knowledge of department procedures.
    • Coordinates the process of correcting operational inefficiencies discovered in the department.
    • Conducts quality control along with CRA & HMDA reviews on all C&I, C&D, and Consumer Constructions Loans to ensure compliance to all regulations and procedures.
    • Performs monthly FCRA review of credit report billings and verifies all credit inquiries were justified. Performs quarterly at-a-glance review to ensure accurate credit reporting on consumer loans.
    • Prepares written reports of findings for department manager review.
    • Collaborates with department manager on development of corrective action plans for any identified quality control or compliance weaknesses, as needed.
    • Maintains all self-monitoring documentation for review by Internal Audit, Corporate Regulatory Compliance and other third party reviews.
    • Assists in the annual reviews of Commercial Lending procedure documents (Business Unit Monitoring Program).
    • Participates on project teams relating to procedural changes as assigned.
    • All other reasonable duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    Required Education and Experience:

    • Strong computer skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite;
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
    • Attention to detail and strong analytical skills;
    • Minimum 3 years loan processing and/or loan compliance experience;
    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.

    Preferred Education and Experience:

    • Minimum 1 year experience using Laser Pro;
    • Minimum 1 year experience in Commercial Lending. 

    Requirements for performing Essential Functions:

    On the job the employee may physically be required to bend, sit, walk, use finger movements, handle objects (manual dexterity), and/or carry/lift loads up to 25lbs. On the job the employee must mentally be able to read/comprehend, write, perform calculations, communicate orally, reason, and analyze.
