  • Responsibilities

    This is a non-exempt/hourly position.  Non-exempt employees categorized as Full-time generally work 37.5 hours per week.


    Summary: Performs assigned duties according to established bank procedures to prevent and minimize loss. Assists Loss Prevention Management and staff members within the department.

    Essential Functions:

    • Depending on specific job assignment, will complete some or all of the following tasks:
    • Reviews daily reports including IT, duplicate check, large teller differences, employee access, employee overdraft, and DDA and Savings accounts for suspicious activity. Takes appropriate actions as needed and communicates findings to the Loss Prevention Management and/or Loss Prevention Field Investigator
    • Performs system applications quarterly and annual audit to ensure appropriate employee access. Provides timely and accurate documentation of audits.
    • Processes and credits customer accounts that have been subject to fraud.
    • Processes incoming garnishments, levies, and/or collections on overdraft accounts.
    • Assists in the follow-up on charge-back checks and overdrawn accounts. Report accounts to our Collection Department as needed
    • Administers and/or establish log-on numbers for access into the bank’s computer system.
    • Ensures accounts are opened for applicants who meet the required credit and verification model codes established by West Suburban Bank to prevent loss.
    • Prepares customer collection and account-closing letters. May assist in preparing accounts to be closed.
    • Cross-trains and/or assists staff in areas within Loss Prevention department.
    • All other reasonable duties as assigned.


    Required Education and Experience:

    • Intermediate computer skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Strong analytical skills. Strong attention to detail.
    • High school diploma or equivalent

     Preferred Education and Experience:

    • Intermediate knowledge of bank products, services, and operations;
    • Minimum of 2 years related work experience;

    Requirements for performing Essential Functions:

    On the job, the employee may physically be required to bend, sit, use finger movements, and/or handle objects (manual dexterity). On the job the employee must mentally be able to read/comprehend, write, perform calculations, communicate orally, reason, analyze, and multi-task.
