• Retail Sales and Service Coach

  • Responsibilities

    Summary: Supports Retail training and development efforts related to product knowledge, sales tool usage and sales skills to ensure sales and service effectiveness. Facilitates sales and customer service related training and workshops, performs field observation and coaching to identify ongoing training needs.

    Essential Functions:

    • Hold regular training workshops to introduce sales and service techniques, products, and/or team building to support WSB’s sales and customer service expectations.
    • Conducts regular branch visits to observe and evaluate branch staff for adequate skills and knowledge related to company sales and customer service standards. Provides on-the-job coaching and works with Branch Manager to identify ongoing training needs.
    • Communicates with the Regional Operations Manager and/or Regional Manager any sales & service issues that have a probability of escalation and document plan.
    • Partner with Employee Development department to create and maintain programs for ongoing sales/service training. Partners with Branch Managers to ensure retail staff is trained on new promotions, procedures, and other items related to sales activities. Coaches and supports staff through operational changes as needed.
    • May assist with the development and mentoring of new bank managers.
    • Participates in retail strategic planning and employee career pathing as needed.
    • Maintains knowledge of banking trends and goals. Attends seminars for knowledge advancement and to remain up to date on industry changes.
    • Frequent local travel is required.
    • All other reasonable duties as assigned.




    Required Education and Experience:

    • Strong computer skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite;
    • Excellent communication skills including group facilitation and presentation skills;
    • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines;
    • Minimum of 5 years Retail Banking experience including practical knowledge and application of bank policies, procedures, and services;
    • Proven track record in sales goal achievement,
    • Demonstrated ability to coach and mentor leaders;
    • Valid Driver’s License;
    • Bachelor’s degree in a related area or equivalent work experience;

    Preferred Education and Experience:

    • Prior success as a Branch Manager in multiple locations, and high volume environment;
    • 10+years of Retail Bank management experience


    Requirements for performing Essential Functions:

    On the job the employee may physically be required to bend, sit, stand, walk, use finger movements, and/or handle objects (manual dexterity). On the job the employee must mentally be able to read/comprehend, write, perform calculations, communicate orally, reason, and analyze. Frequently operates a motorized vehicle.
