  • Responsibilities

    Summary: Works with company leadership to identify training needs, and coordinates development projects as needed. Supervises employee development staff members and trainees.


    Essential Functions:

    • Consults with key business leaders and subject matter experts (SMEs) to determine learning objectives and recommend training solution(s). Drafts Statement of Work (SOW) and training project timelines for custom development.

    • Negotiates project timelines, solicits and implements feedback and manages approval process for assigned projects. Manages employee development projects from the design phase to implementation, and reports project status to the HR Manager of Employee Development as needed.

    • Designs, develops and maintains materials such as online courses, manuals, participant guides, training updates, and quick reference guides. Incorporates the use of varied delivery alternatives, including self-study, instructor-led, computer-based, web-enabled and other options.

    • Works closely with business unit managers to maintain existing e-learning modules. Ensure the existing modules remain current, of high quality, and still meet desired learning objectives.

    • Supervises and mentors Employee Development staff. Administers support in all personnel matters for EDC staff as well as trainees related to scheduling, disciplinary action, termination, and performance management. Escalates employee matters to Employee Development Manager as necessary.

    • Maintains knowledge of area(s) of instruction with periodic involvement in branches or departments. Coordinates with supervisors and peers to accomplish team and bank goals.

    • Evaluates training effectiveness by assessing application of learning to job performance through survey, observation, and online training analysis. Identifies areas for improvement in training offerings, and implements changes as needed.

    • Supports training product development and implementation including research and acquisition of new software and rollout of upgrades and/or enhancements.

    • Possesses knowledge of bank products and services. Attends seminars for further knowledge and to update knowledge base. All other reasonable duties as assigned.

    • Cross-trained in other Employee Development functions, which may include Learning Management System (LMS) and SharePoint administration, and classroom training as needed.

    • Maintains department Business Continuity Plan and coordinate annual and new hire training regarding the plan.


     

    Qualifications

    Required Education and Experience:



    • Strong computer skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite;

    • Advanced editing and design/formatting skills;

    • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including excellent group facilitation and presentation skills;

    • 2 years’ experience in content development, preferably with creating web-based training in Articulate or equivalent eLearning application;

    • Bachelor’s degree in a related area or equivalent work experience.


    Preferred Education and Experience:



    • Working knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint;

    • 5 years banking, customer service, and/or sales experience preferably in a training role;

    • 2 or more years supervisory experience.


    Requirements for performing Essential Functions:


    On the job, the employee may physically be required to bend, sit, use finger movements, and/or handle objects (manual dexterity). On the job the employee must mentally be able to read/comprehend, write, perform calculations, communicate orally, reason, analyze, and multi-task.
